MaxHire Business Intelligence Dashboards Launching in Early February

Happy holidays! Santa’s elves are busy building the next version of MaxHire scheduled for early February. (Does that make me Santa? Not sure how I feel about that…)

I’ve put together a mockup of the new dashboards with live data linked to a test database. I could write forever about the technology and how each one works, but just take a look instead. A picture is worth a thousand words. When the first dashboard loads, click the “Interview” label as shown below to see how the data is interactive. Very cool!

I’ll try to address some of the frequently asked questions about the new dashboards. If your question isn’t answered here, feel free to ask it in the comment section below or in our LinkedIn group.

Is this feature going to cost extra?
No. It’s included for everyone at no extra charge. Merry Christmas!

What data is used for the calculations in the out of the box dashboards?
Needless to say, there is a lot of work behind these. Every out of the box dashboard will have its own help topic and video. The help topic will discuss the data behind each dashboard in detail.

Can the dashboards be customized?
Yes! One of the most important requirements when we selected the technology and designed the dashboards is the ability to create custom dashboards, similar to how we can create custom reports.

Can I make a dashboard my default landing page in MaxHire?
Yes, you can make any dashboard (including a custom dashboard) your default landing page when you open MaxHire or keep the current desktop as your default.

Will the dashboards be available in MaxHire Mobile?
Yes, we are adding the dashboards to MaxHire Mobile for the spring 2012 release. They work great on an iPad!

Is the data live? How often does it refresh?
The dashboards are connected directly to your MaxHire data so they are live. The data isn’t pulled daily or anything like that. The technology has an amazing ability to render dashboards in real time from massive amounts of data (tens of millions of records). I have no idea how they did that.

Can we make our own dashboards?
Yes, you can build your own dashboards if you purchase Tableau Desktop from http://www.tableausoftware.com/ . Our dashboards are built on their technology and you can publish the dashboards you create to our Tableau Server so they are available to your users.

Can we restrict access to certain dashboards or data within the dashboards?
Yes, the dashboards are completely integrated with the existing security policies in MaxHire. If someone is not permitted to see something in MaxHire, it won’t show in the dashboards either. You will be able to block access to selected dashboards using security groups.

How are the dashboards in MaxHire different than 3rd party add-on dashboards?
Several 3rd party vendors offer add-on dashboard solutions that integrate with MaxHire. InsightSquared and RPM are two examples. These products will continue to work with MaxHire after we release our integrated dashboards. Every dashboard product is unique and brings value to our customers with specific requirements.

What if we don’t want these dashboards in MaxHire?
Just kidding! Nobody has ever asked that.

Have a great holiday! I’ll be thinking about new dashboards while I’m drinking a Corona on the beach tomorrow.

This looks very promising, Peter. If it can provide the reporting that we have to do manually, I will become a Maxhire evangelist.

  5. Funny – we were considering Tableau to integrate with MH to build our own dashboard. Thank God your team did it for us in a very appealing layout. Well done guys!
