Gmail Now a Good Exchange Server Alternative
MaxHire customers who currently use or were considering Gmail instead of Microsoft Exchange Server for email will be happy about Google’s recently updated Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook as the new technology allows them to be able to use Gmail with MaxHire’s Outlook Add-in. Before Apps Sync for Outlook, Gmail relied on IMAP technology that didn’t work well with Outlook. Now with Apps Sync, Gmail integrates seamlessly with the Outlook Inbox and the MaxHire Outlook Add-In making it the perfect low cost alternative to using Microsoft Exchange Server for email.
With Gmail priced as low as $4, per user, per month compared to Exchange Server hosting which costs $10 per user, per month, it’s easy to see why Google applications are an attractive option to many businesses. There are still compelling reasons to use Exchange Server like shared folders, but if all you’re looking for is centrally hosted email that works in Outlook as well through a web browser, then Gmail is a great solution now with the addition of Apps Sync.
