Planning for the Future: Aligning Technology and Business Growth
Many of our clients have seen significant, positive changes in their business since implementing the MaxHire recruiting software. We’ve seen many grow and prosper. And it only makes sense that as a business grows and evolves, the technology used by that business is reviewed, evaluated and optimized along the way.
Planning for technology with regards to the growth of your business is now, more than ever, imperative. What works for a start-up or office of five, will not necessarily translate for a company of fifty.
Redwood Global is one company that has successfully incorporated and managed technology growth within their strategic plan. Over the past six years, the firm has grown from four recruiters to a staff of 30. And from <$1 million earnings to a targeted of $30 million this year. What’s more, the company has been named one of the top five Profit 200 companies for 2012. With all this growth, Randy Clemens, Managing Director at Redwood Global told me how they reviewed and re-mapped MaxHire to align with their new corporate reality.
Minimize Downtime, Maximize Investments
Clemens explained that because of the consistent growth and new staff, MaxHire was incorporated into a new onboarding program. Using MaxHire’s online training modules, the new Account Managers and Recruiters were shown how to use the software and how it would fit within their day-to-day activities. This also came in handy when Redwood Global went from a single-desk to a split-desk model. They had to invest time in re-training staff that had previously been used to a single-desk. Thanks to the new way they were using MaxHire in the onboarding program, they were able to minimize downtime and maximize their training investment.
Track Activities to Drive Performance
When Redwood Global was small, it was easy for Clemens and his partner, Ryan Atkinson, to track each Recruiter’s performance using basic metrics. But with the company’s expansion, the employee’s roles have evolved, so too have the metrics. So MaxHire was put into play to manage the growing number of staff and their deliverables.
To stay on top of business, management monitors a variety of performance indicators easily pulled through MaxHire software such as the number of sendouts for Account Managers and number of interviews for Recruiters. By implementing and tracking these KPIs, the company can assure that everyone is performing properly and any issues are identified and resolved early on.
“We can motivate our staff to perform the right activities and ensure that they’re meeting their targets because MaxHire allows us to track those activities,” said Clemens. “The numbers don’t lie.”
Redwood Global, a long-time client, was able to continue using the same staffing software, but planned for, and adjusted it to meet their growing needs. This was part of their strategic planning for the business. It helped them increase efficiency and streamline reporting.
